Ondo state has 12% of Nigeria’s crude oil reserves with potential for extraction, refining and marketing. The availability of 80% arable land in the state also facilitates large scale production of cash and food crops. Presently Ondo accounts for over 40% of all cocoa export from Nigeria which can be processed to chocolate and beverages. In addition, Ondo state has 75km coastline for maritime activities, fishing and tourism. Besides, Port Ondo will be the deepest sea port in Nigeria with a draft of 16-18 metres with the capability to efficiently handle large commercial vessels, providing a crucial link to global trade
